How to Use the YKS Score Calculator

What is YKS?

YKS (Higher Education Institutions Exam) is the standardized university entrance exam in Turkey administered by OSYM. It consists of three separate sessions: TYT (Basic Proficiency Test), AYT (Field Proficiency Test), and YDT (Foreign Language Test). Your score determines which university programs you can apply to.

How Scoring Works

Net Calculation: Each wrong answer eliminates a quarter of a correct answer. Net = Correct - (Wrong / 4). Each subject has a coefficient that is multiplied by your net score, then summed and added to a base score of 100.

OBP (High School Grade Point): Your diploma grade (0-100) is multiplied by 5 to get OBP (range: 250-500). OBP contributes 12% to your final score. OBP Contribution = OBP x 0.12.

Step-by-Step Guide

  1. Select your session -- Click on TYT, AYT, or YDT tab.
  2. Enter answers -- Input your correct and wrong answers for each subject.
  3. Add diploma grade -- Enter your high school diploma grade (0-100) for OBP calculation.
  4. Calculate -- Click "Calculate Score" to see your estimated ham score and placement score.
  5. Try different scenarios -- Adjust answers to see potential score improvements.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is YKS?
YKS (Higher Education Institutions Exam) is the university entrance exam in Turkey, consisting of three sessions: TYT (Basic Proficiency Test), AYT (Field Proficiency Test), and YDT (Foreign Language Test). It is administered by OSYM and taken by millions of students each year.
How is the YKS score calculated?
YKS scores are calculated by first determining your net correct answers (correct answers minus wrong answers divided by 4). Each subject has a coefficient weight (e.g., Turkish net x 2.9, Math net x 3.1 for TYT). The total weighted score is added to a base score of 100. Then OBP (High School Grade Point) is calculated from your diploma grade and added to the score.
What is OBP and how does it affect my score?
OBP (Ortaogretim Basari Puani) is the High School Achievement Score. It is calculated by taking your diploma grade (0-100) and multiplying it by 5, giving a score between 250 and 500. OBP contributes 12% to your final placement score, meaning your OBP Contribution = OBP x 0.12. For example, a diploma grade of 85 gives OBP of 425, contributing 51 points to your final score.
Does this calculator store my data?
No. All calculation inputs are processed directly in your browser and are not stored on Covrixa servers. Your exam scores, diploma grade, and all other data remain on your device. Google Analytics may be used to measure site performance but does not record your calculation inputs.
What is the difference between TYT and AYT?
TYT (Basic Proficiency Test) is the first session taken by all students, covering Turkish, Social Sciences, Basic Mathematics, and Science. It is worth 120 questions and 165 minutes. AYT (Field Proficiency Test) is the second session where you choose tests based on your field: SAY (Numerical) for engineering/medicine, EA (Equal Weight) for law/business, or SOZ (Verbal) for teaching/communication. AYT has 160 questions and 180 minutes.
